The India Chapter of IFMR was founded in 2003 in the vibrant city of Bangalore by a group of motorcycle-loving Rotarians. Among the visionaries who laid the foundation were Past District Governor Dr. Prithvi Raval, the founding Chair, along with Rotarians Zarrl Lobo, Ramdas Pai, Devesh Agarwal, Ravish NR, Srinivas Babu, and several other dedicated individuals. Their pioneering spirit has set the stage for what IFMR India has become today – one of the most active chapters of IFMR worldwide.
Our chapter has grown significantly over the years. We are proud to have 86 enthusiastic members in Bangalore and close to 350 members across the country, organised into 10 sub-chapters. These sub-chapters are located in Hassan, Mysore, Thrissur, Kerala, Thanjavur, Goa, Solapur, Coimbatore, Ahmedabad, and Varanasi, with several more in the pipeline.
It is worth noting that two members of our India Chapter have had the honour of serving as International Presidents of IFMR. Dr. Prithvi Raval, our founding Chair, and Rotarian Sunil Telkar, who is the current serving President of IFMR International. Their leadership and vision have elevated our chapter’s status on the global stage.
At IFMR, we encourage all Rotarians who share our love for motorcycling to join us. We are committed to fostering a culture of discipline and road safety among our riders. Our tagline, “Riding with Passion, Responsibly,” reflects our dedication to being skilled and responsible riders, ensuring that our adventures are safe and enjoyable for all.
